2026 saw ferocious and persistent bushfires threaten the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest community for the first time in living memory, and the community was taken off guard. With this in mind, Lyne Together are hosting a community meeting to share our experiences and concerns, and discuss how we can be better prepared for the upcoming season. 

Given the hot and dry conditions forecast over the next few months, we could be in for another bad bushfire season.

Representatives from Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue and National Parks will be on hand to advise residents and hear their concerns.

Fire experts will explain how and why the last season was so dangerous for our community.

Jeremy Miller will then facilitate a discussion by residents on what we can do better.
